Set for completion in July 2025, the unit will have the capacity to produce 15 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) of truck & bus radial tires and light truck tires. In its second phase, the Lorestan plant will increase production capacity to 35ktpa, to be completed by March 2027. In addition to the new factory, Barez is also expanding its existing manufacturing sites in Kerman, southern Iran and Kordestan, to the northwest of the country.

At its flagship Kerman facility, the tire maker is planning to increase production capacity for passenger car, SUV, TBR and off-road tires to 26ktpa by March next year. The project aims to increase capacity by an overall 30ktpa to 66ktpa by March 2027, in two phases. In addition to the said projects, Barez is also pursuing a 10ktpa reclaimed rubber project in Sirjan, in Kerman, which the company expects to further its sustainability goals. That project, Barez said, is scheduled to be completed by September next year. Barez expects the overall cost of all projects to be over €250 million.
